Language Arts w/Michael Czarnecki

Join poet Michael Czarnecki as he guides writers in the “Palm-of-the-Hand” writing style. Modeled after stories by Japanese writer Yasunari Kawabata, “Palm-of-the-Hand” writing helps focus the writer’s energy into completing short individual pieces about their life. This style has been very successful in helping people to write extensively about their life experiences. Paper Kite Press has hosted Michael on multiple occasions to share this workshop, and he never fails to bring out some of the most compelling short memoirs from his participants. We are fortunate to have him back to share with us again.

Language Arts is designed as a day-long exploration of writing, reading, and creative community. Once a month, we host a workshop led by a featured writer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., (with a break for lunch of course!) followed by an evening reading from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The reading will feature the writer and…
